Dr. Kimberley Bauer, ND LM CPM came to the Pacific Northwest to attend Bastyr University in 2000 and has happily called the beautiful northwest home ever since. As a Naturopathic Physician and Midwife, Kim specializes in healthcare for the whole family, from infanthood to elderhood. Dr. Bauer often says if she lived a century ago, she would have been a country doctor, traveling by horse drawn carriage from home to home. In these modern times, she still brings a kind, open, comprehensive view of health to her work with patients of all ages. In all of her endeavors, she seeks to empower, educate and support people in becoming their best selves. Dr. Bauer is excited to support the work of Rooted Emerging through service on the Advisory Board.
Roberta DeBoard, PhD, NCSP One of Bobbie’s first teaching experiences was with young underprivileged immigrant women, many of them already mothers, who knew nothing about their own sexuality. Ever since then most of her work has somehow involved teaching and helping others to know more about and appreciate themselves. As a School Psychologist she has a particular interest in how children make transitions across places, cultures, and ages. She brings a strong background in child development and cross-cultural work to our Advisory Board.
Matt Fogarty is in love with the world and perpetually curious about it. He believes that encouraging our youth to find their own authentic relationships with the world is one of the best ways to care for it. Promoting such relationships cultivates awareness, responsiveness, courage, firm ecological ethics, a greater sense of belonging, childlike joy, camaraderie with our non-human companions, and enduring love of life. He has spent the past few years as coordinator and mentor for Boys Explorers Club. He also serves as a mentor for Rite of Passage Journeys and teaches exercise and embodiment therapy. He has a BA in English and Nature Studies from Hampshire College and an MA in the Ecopsychology from Naropa University. He is an avid naturalist who has enjoyed the guidance of the Wilderness Awareness School for many years now. He loves the art of writing, and has a closetful of manuscripts to prove it.
